Mochiii is a terminal coding assistant that works on the project folder you start it in. It comes as a terminal app, and as a VS Code extension. These pages describe the terminal app, version 1.5.0.

What you need to use it

  • A model. Mochiii asks a language model to answer. You give it an API key from a model provider, or you point it at a model server running on your own computer.
  • A project folder. Mochiii works on the folder it starts in. Start it inside a project, not in your home folder.
Mochiii can build a search index of a project folder, so it can find the code that relates to your question. On first run in a folder it asks whether to build one. The index is made on your computer, and is kept in the .mochiii/index folder inside the project.
